From 2012-2018, I studied „Safety & Hazard Defense”, an interdisciplinary and consecutive bachelor’s and master's degree program on fire protection, disaster management and hazard prevention at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) and Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

After graduating in 2018, I started to work as a research associate at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in various research projects.

In my dissertation at OVGU, I am developing a numerical pyrolysis prediction model for insulation materials made from renewable raw materials such as wood-fibers or cellulose. Since these materials could be significantly reduce the carbon footprint of buildings, but tend to smolder, it is important to understand their fire behavior.

Therefore, part of my stay as a visiting researcher in Lund will be to conduct experiments to better understand the influence of oxygen to smoldering processes. In collaboration with Konrad Wilkens from the Fire Safety Division at LTH, we can thus improve the fire safety of buildings made from renewable resources.
