We are very glad to welcome three new PhD students: Marcus Runefors, Silvia Arias and John Barton. They have all been employed at the department of Fire Safety Engineering during the autumn 2014. All three have degrees from the department. Marcus is a graduate from our Swedish Fire Protection Engineering program and he also holds a M.Sc. in Risk Management and Safety Engineering. Both John and Silvia are graduates from the international master program in Fire Safety Engineering that we run with Ghent University and the University of Edinburgh.

Marcus is engaged in our research project on residential fires, Silvia is working with evacuation and human behaviour and John is working in a project on Hypoxic air systems. Apart from research will all three be a part of our teaching activities at bachelor and masters level.
