– Published 25 July 2019
Silvia Arias is awarded the 2019 Proulx Scholarship. Silvias research includes how Virtual Reality (VR) can be used to study human behavior in fire. By using VR in an experimental setup it may be possible to study human behavior in conditions that otherwise can be dangerous to people. The award is one of the prestigious SFPE Educational and Scientific Foundation awards and is presented by the SFPE.
The award honors the legacy of Guylène Proulx. Dr. Proulx was considered to be one of the most preeminent researchers and communicators in the field of human behavior in emergencies. More information about the award can be found here.
We are very happy and proud to have Silvia working with us at the division of Fire Safety Engineering. Congratulations Silvia!
