Brian Meacham, Associate Professor in the Department of Fire Protection Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the USA, is visiting the Fire Safety Engineering Division at Lund University for the month of September. He is spending time with us as part of his year-long sabbatical research into the situation with performance-based codes and performance-based fire safety engineering in seven countries. During his stay he is interviewing persons at Boverket and at several fire safety engineering firms. In particular he is investigating views on implementing a more risk-informed / risk-based approach to building regulation and FSE design. His visit is supported by a Fulbright Global Scholar Award.
