This week, the Fire Protection and Safety in Tunnels conference was arranged in Copenhagen at Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel. Both Daniel Nilsson and Karl Fridolf from the Department attended the conference and gave speeches as well as hosted roundtable discussions. Daniel gave a presentation on the Wednesday, with the title "Uncovering human behaviour in crisis situations and how to develop improved strategies to increase the efficiency of evacuation", and Karl hosted a roundtable session during the Thursday, with the title "Rethinking tunnel evacuation strategies: is there a better way to improve life safety?".

On Wednesday night, Karl Fridolf also received an award for "Outstanding contribution to research in tunnel fire safety". The Department of Fire Safety Engineering and Systems Safety congratulates Karl for this award!
